Our COVID-19 Policy
As the world opens and we all get ready to travel again, your students’ health and well-being continues to be our top priority. We want you to travel confidently, which is why we’re taking the steps to help keep our groups as healthy and safe as possible.
Pre-Deposit Check-in
While we are hopeful that the world will be travel-ready by your programme, we want to make sure we are making the most informed decisions for you and your students.
At the time deposits are due, we will assess the situation with regards your destination(s) and make a final call in collaboration with you. If for any reason your particular destination(s) is no longer feasible, we can either delay the programme, where possible pivot to another destination and/or run one of our Virtual Journeys to ensure the students do not miss their global learning opportunity.
Staying Safe from the Get-Go!
We do everything we can to maintain the integrity of our programmes, and the safety of our professors and students comes first. For this reason, we have a two-step process to keep the programmes as safe as possible.
Step 1:
Travel Safe COVID-19 Agreement
All students and professors intending to travel with Eden Travel International will be required to complete a Travel Safe COVID-19 Agreement at the time of paying their deposit. This outlines expectations around travel requirements at that time, safety measures put in place and the necessity of a pre-departure negative COVID-19 PCR test result.
Step 2:
Pre-Programme Testing
In order to keep our group as safe as possible, and to comply with regulations from various airlines and countries, all travelers are required to have a negative COVID-19 PCR test. Students and professors joining our programmes will be required to send proof of their negative result, completed using a sample taken no more than 72 hours prior to their scheduled flight departure. Any costs associated with testing are the responsibility of the traveler; however, many states and local communities offer free testing resources. Travelers will need to be prepared to show proof of their negative test as required throughout tour.
Professors and students are all required to have their own travel insurance. We highly recommend that students pay particular attention to their policies with regards falling in while abroad, and endeavour to have proper coverage for such circumstances.
While Away
Through our global reach and partners on the ground, we are able to stay on the pulse about all COVID-related matters and react appropriately. If we need to adjust an itinerary to, say, avoid a crowded location at a peak time or follow local health and safety guidance, we’re able to do so quickly and easily. Our on-the-ground presence in the areas where we travel means we’re continuously working with our local partners, such as special sites and restaurants, to provide as safe an experience as possible.
Masks & hand sanitizer on tour: Masks must be worn if required by local regulations and we encourage frequent hand sanitizing. We do ask that students and professors bring their own face masks as well as their own personal hand sanitizers.
Our Partners: We partner with hotels, restaurants and transportation companies that practice enhanced safety measures such as frequent cleaning of common areas and thoroughly disinfecting rooms between guests.
Returning home
Currently, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control requires that all travelers entering the U.S. from abroad provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test administered within three days of boarding a flight to the U.S., or a doctor’s note certifying proof of recovery from COVID-19 within the last three months. If this is still required at your time of travel, itineraries will be adjusted and logistics will be handled to ensure all students are able to comply. Any costs associated with testing are the responsibility of the traveler.
